JOPLIN, MO (SNS) -Twenty-four students at Missouri Southern State University will be recognized at the 17th annual Glenn D. Dolence Leadership/Service Recognition Assembly, slated for Room 310 in Billingsly Student Center at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 24. Refreshments will be served following the brief ceremony.
The students listed below will receive Dolence Awards. Also, the name of a student winning an additional Dolence “Outstanding Leader Awards” will be announced during the ceremony. Student Services and Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) at Missouri Southern sponsor the awards which are presented to graduating students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills on campus and who have made a difference in the areas of campus organizations, student employment, student services or athletics.
The Awards are named in honor of Dr. Glenn D. Dolence, retired Vice President for Student Services at Missouri Southern State University. After 27 years of service Dr. Dolence retired from MSSU in 1996. He later served as mayor of Webb City, Mo and held a variety of other posts.
