JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - The historic Coleman Theatre in Miami, Okla. is featured on an upcoming documentary program scheduled to air on KGCS-TV. 

 

The program takes a look at the history of the theatre, restoration efforts, and the use of the theatre today.  It takes viewers behind the scenes inside the theatre, to look at details such as the large crystal chandelier and the theatre’s organ.

 

Coleman Theatre Beautiful was produced by the RSU Public TV, the television station at Rogers State University in Claremore, Okla. 

 

“We are glad to be able to obtain a copy of the program from RSU, to share with area viewers.  It captures a unique feature in the cultural history of the region,” says Judy Stiles, KGCS-TV General Manager.

 

The program will air twice during the week of March 16, with scheduled airtimes of 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 16 and 9:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17.  It will also be shown at other times in upcoming weeks.

 

KGCS programming may be seen on UHF channel 57, Cable One channel 7 and Mediacom channel 77.  The Sunday evening programming may also be seen on cable systems with a channel airing Southern Instructional Television.  KGCS operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
