JOPLIN, MO (SNS) - The sixth meeting of the 2007-08 year for the Southwest Missouri Chapter of the Missouri Archaeological Society will feature a presentation on “Archaeology of the Prehistoric Caddo."

 

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7 in Room 105 of Webster Hall at Missouri Southern State University, 3950 E. Newman Road in Joplin.

 

The presenter will be Dr. Ann Early, a professor at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Early is Arkansas's State Archaeologist and head of the Arkansas Archaeological Survey, recognized as one of the premier archaeologists in the mid-south.

 

Her talk will center on the Caddo, whose northern range included southwest Missouri in pre-historic times.
