JOPLIN, MO (SNS) – The Missouri Southern State University speech and debate squad competed in the Gorlock Gala speech and debate tournament held at Webster University in St. Louis. Jan. 24 - 27 in St. Louis.
A total of 69 tournament debaters from 31 colleges and universities representing 15 states took part in the tournaments.
At the tournament, Dylan Slagle, senior political science major from Aurora, went 4-2 in the preliminary rounds and qualified for octo-finals. He was defeated in the round of 16 by a debater from Western Kentucky.
Kelly B. Larson, Forensics Director says the MSSU forensics squad is now off until the Sunset Classic tournament takes place in San Diego, Calif. the first week of February.
