| Instructor of Piano
The Kansas City Conservatory of Music was the early training
ground of Gloria Jardon. Having studied with Wicktor Labunski there, and later,
Angelica Von Sauer and John Perry at the University of Kansas, she graduated
from New England Conservatory where composer David Barnett was her chief
mentor. She joined Pi Kappa Lambda Honorary Fraternity.
Returning to Kansas City, Gloria began
teaching piano and won a Missouri State prize in composition. She continued her
teaching and earned a master of music degree when she moved with her family to
Joplin in 1970. She has been associated with Missouri Southern State University
since 1981. Gloria is the concept originator and present chairperson of the
Honors Audition of the Missouri Southern International Piano Competition.
