Cynthia
Hukill joined the Music Faculty at Missouri Southern State University
as Assistant Professor in the fall of 1999 after an extensive career as a
pianist, teacher, and administrator in Kansas City MO.
There she was a member of the piano faculty at Avila College, where she
served as coordinator of the Music Division and the Avila Music Festival. She
holds the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from the
University of North Texas and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano
Performance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of
Music.
She studied Piano Performance with Richard Cass and Larry Walz, and has
coached with Stefan Bardas, Malcolm Frager, and Gaby Casadesus. In addition to
maintaining an active performance schedule in the Midwest and Southern states,
Dr. Hukill frequently serves as an adjudicator and clinician in the four-state
region. She holds active memberships in numerous professional organizations,
including the Music Teachers National Association, the College Music Society,
and the American Liszt Society. |
