Accompanist policy and fees:

This policy will be in affect for the 2008—2009 academic year, and will apply to Thursday Department Recitals, Junior/Senior Recitals, juries and other competitions or performances where the use of an accompanist is needed.

Thursday Department Recitals and Juries

 

1.  The written music to be performed should be given to the accompanist no later than two (2) weeks before the expected performance.

  1. Setting times for rehearsals will be the responsibility of the student performer.  The student is also responsible to inform their applied instructor of these times.
  2. Rehearsals must be set at least one (1) week before the performance.
  3. See the current fee schedule below.

Junior/Senior Recitals

 

  1. The written music to be performed should be given to the accompanist no later than six (6) weeks before the expected performance.
  1. Setting times for rehearsals will be the responsibility of the student performer.  The student is also responsible to inform their applied instructor of these times.
  2. Rehearsals must be set at least six (6) weeks before the performance.
  3. It will be the responsibility of the student performer to inquire of the fee and pay the accompanist before the performance, or make other arrangements for payment.

If the above stipulations are not met, the accompanist may decline a performance.

In unusual or difficult circumstances, the accompanist may be willing to sight-read or perform without a rehearsal, but such performances and the fees for such performances would be entirely at the discretion of the accompanist.

Studio Rehearsal fees:
1 hour - $20.00
½ hour – $12.50
Performance fees:
Full recital - $100.00 plus $15.00 per hour if total is more than 6 hours
Half recital - $75.00
Student recital - $30.00 (includes 2 rehearsals)
Studio and Master Class - $10.00
Juries - $25.00
Payment policy
Payment can be arranged on an individual basis.
Payment of studio rehearsals and other performances for the semester must be made before the final juries.  The accompanist is not obligated to play for juries if the financial obligations have not been met.
