Probation and Parole

The board of Probation and Parole is comprised of seven full-time members appointed by the governor, subject to advice and consent of the Senate. Members determine the release of individuals from confinement in the Division of Adult Institutions through parole or conditional release and oversee the supervision of probationers assigned by the courts The chair of the board is appointed by the governor and is the division director for Probation and Parole, Interstate Compact Services supervisor and chief spokesperson for the board. The board also investigates and reports to the governor on all applications for pardons, commutations of sentence, reprieves or restorations of citizenship. The board may include information on relating to the applicant along with appropriate recommendations.
