Office
of Deaf and Linguistic Support Services (DLS)
A project of the Department of Mental Health, the DLS provides
services to consumers who have limited English proficiency.
Support services include arranging for interpreters, providing
technical advice on adaptive equipment, and acting as a
lieaison between the department and other agencies that
provide services to persons who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The DLS also provides advocacy and empowerment through education
to enable consumers to be strong advocates for mental health
services that recognize their special needs and are senstitive
to their culture.
