Continuing EducationView Fall 2007 Continuing Education Courses Continuing Education courses are designed for professionals and educational enrichment. Continuing Education students are not required to go through the regular student admission process. However, some of the courses contain enough content and clock hours to qualify for academic credit, dependent upson student major. Upon completion of the course, academic credit may be requested by completing an academic petition in the Registrar's Office. Students are advised to check with their school Dean BEFORE enrolling if they wish to receive academic credit. A student may withdraw from a continuing education course. If the student withdraws before the first class meeting, fees will be refunded. Refunds after the start of the course will be based upon the date of withdrawal and the number of class sessions completed by that date. No refunds will be made after 1/3 of the class sessions have met. To withdraw, the student must contact the Lifelong Learning Office at 417-625-9384, or email dll@mssu.edu Pre-Enrollment ProcedureStudents may enroll in Continuing Education courses by filling out the brief enrollment form for Continuing Education courses. Every student must be signed up and have their course selection(s) paid before the first class meeting. In some cases, where class size is limited, the first students who sign up and are paid will be enrolled in the class. The check should contain the student's Social Security number and designate the desired Course Reference Numbers (CRNs). Courses are computerized by their CRN rather than their name. Students will not receive a confirmation of enrollment due to the lack of time between enrollment and the course starting date. However, if the course should be cancelled due to lack of enrollment, students will be contacted utilizing the phone number they have provided on the enrollment form. If mailing time does not permit for pre-enrollment, the student may call the Continuing Education office at 417-625-9384 to check on class availability. If space is still available, enrollment by phone and payment by use of a major credit card may be possible. | |||
