(1) For distance education courses, ensure that you have access to the minimum computer requirements for course participation. This information is located under the "courses" area of the Lifelong Learning web site: Click on this Distance Education Courses link to access this area: Distance Education Courses.

(2) If you are interested in distance education courses only then you can use the On-Line Registration form found in the "Courses" area of the Lifelong Learning web site. Click on this Distance Education Courses link to access this area: Distance Education Courses. If not already admitted to the college, you must still contact admissions for official admittance to MSSU, however, while that is being processed, we can enroll you in a "special" category. Actual enrollment in courses will be dependent upon class availability and enrollment eligibility. In addition to initiating admissions procedures for first time MSSU students, transcript information for courses taken anywhere other than MSSU must be on file to allow enrollment in any courses with pre-requisites - please check the course description for this information prior to requesting enrollment. If already admitted to the college, you may also register for courses through contacting the applicable department offering the course (contact information is found in the college catalog).

(3) If you are interested in "traditional" courses offered on campus at Missouri Southern State University, you must first be admitted, then contact the Student Support Center - Hearnes hall Room 114: (417) 625-9324 for information on the required College Orientation.

The instructor email address can be found with the "courses" information on the Lifelong Learning web site. You are encouraged to use your MSSU email account for all distance education courses.

During the Week before courses begin, Access your Course Site(s)

Distance Education courses use an Internet based Course Management System called Blackboard. Blackboard is accessed through the Bb Login link on the Lifelong Learning home page, or by keying the URL into your browser address bar: http://mssu.blackboard.com. We recommend using Internet Explorer to access Blackboard. All students are enrolled in a Blackboard demonstration site for the first few weeks of class to provide an orientation to using this resource.
