Lifelong Learning promotes the concept that learning is a continually evolving process. Lifelong Learning provides a variety of forms of access to education to meet the evolving needs of the individual. Access to educational opportunity is provided on-campus and off-campus during the week and through Weekend Hybrid courses. It is recognized that learning is not always formalized and in some cases individuals may, through the portfolio process, achieve recognition for career and professional experiences.

Lifelong Learning is responsible for a variety of activities including distance learning. Persons who are homebound or have restrictive work schedules have access to University courses thorough one or more of the University's distance learning delivery systems. Students that enroll in programs offered by Lifelong learning are considered to be special students or temporary until they have completed the regular admission process to become degree-seeking students. Until they have completed their admission process and have become degree-seeking students they will not be eligible for financial aid and will not be able to graduate from MSSU.
