Frequently Asked Questions About The Tutoring Program

 

For which courses do tutors provide help?

Tutoring is available in 100 and 200 level courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, political science, sociology, and psychology.

Writing tutoring is also available for composition courses, writing intensive courses, and graduate courses.

 

What kind of tutoring is available?

Where does tutoring take place?

Tutoring takes place in the Learning Center.

 

Who comes for tutoring?

The tutoring service is intended for any Missouri Southern student seeking help. Students who come:

  • May be experiencing low grades in a course

  • May be working for an A and need some additional guidance to achieve it

  • May be referred by an instructor for additional help

How much does tutoring cost?

Tutoring is FREE for Missouri Southern students!

 

BECOMING A TUTOR:
 What are the qualifications to be a tutor? Tutors must:

  • Have achieved a high GPA

  • Show strong achievement in the major

  • Indicate a willingness to help others

  • Demonstrate responsibility and punctuality

Why become a tutor?

Becoming a tutor provides:
