Visions Unlimited

In the fall of 1988, the television station at Missouri Southern State University began a unique program involving area senior citizens in the production of television programs.  The Area Agency on Aging helped contact seniors interested in learning about television.  The MSSU Division of Continuing Education provided training classes.

"Visions Unlimited" first aired in December of 1988.  The monthly program is produced entirely by retired senior volunteers.  Members generate program ideas, then carry those ideas through to a completed program.  The involvement of "Visions" members goes beyond their own program.  Members volunteer for various other station productions, such as operating cameras and helping behind-the-scenes.

Persons interested in joining the "Visions" team are encouraged to contact station management for further information.

"Visions Unlimited" volunteers have received a number of awards and special recognition over the years.
