MSSU Media Showcase 

Missouri Southern State University - November 4, 2010

More than 250 students from area high schools attended the 2010 Southern Media Showcase Day. School groups visiting campus included Aurora, Central (Springfield), East Newton, Joplin, Webb City, McAuley, and Southeast (KS).

Keynote Speaker

Andre Smith  Andre Smith, Deputy New Media Editor at The News Journal, the state newspaper of Delaware. While a student at Missouri Southern, Smith worked on both the campus newspaper and magazine. He started his career at The Carthage Press. He serves as the point person for the sports multimedia content for DelawareOnline.com.

Other Activities

A media panel sharing insight into collegiate and professional opportunities. Award presentations were made to students in video and print categories. Students in attendance also gathered for lunch.

Student Awards

Awards were presented to students from throughout the region, who competed in video and print competition categories.
