| Cardinals Caravan Visits Joplin | |

Nearly 400 people from throughout the region attended the St. Louis Cardinals Caravan stop at Missouri Southern State University on Monday, January 16, 2006. KGCS-TV helped host the event where fans had a chance to hear from and meet current and former players.

Current St. Louis players attending were pitcher Adam Wainwright, outfielder Skip Schumaker, and pitcher Tyler Johnson. Two players from the Springfield Cardinals were also present, shortstop Brendan Ryan, and first baseman Juan Diaz. Former Cardinals players in attendance included third baseman Ken Reitz, from the 1970's team.

Cardinals TV announcer Bob Carpenter served as emcee for the program.. Players made comments, and fans had a chance to ask questions. Following the program, fans received autographs from the players and won various door prizes.
