The International Business Major
At Missouri Southern State University the International Business major involves the study of business transactions that involve two or more countries, and it provides our students with knowledge of the international business processes, in order to prepare them for their future careers. Students majoring in this field learn the structure of market environments of the international business arena, and the effect that these environments have on the decision-making process. They found out not only why businesses go overseas, but how they do so and what makes them successful. The program is designed for students who are interested in working abroad, with foreign companies in the Unites States, or with local businesses in competition with foreign ones. Students study International Business because it comprises a large and growing portion of business activity. Almost all companies, large or small, are affected by global events and competition. This is because most sell to or buy from foreign countries and/or compete against products and services that come from abroad. This major will prepare a student for a variety of jobs in the international workplace or graduate studies in international business. It is through close consultation with an adviser that the student will most properly prepare for a career.
