MSSU and the Universidad de las Américas (UDLA) signed an agreement of cooperation in 1999 and have exchanged nearly 60 students the past five years. Located in Santiago, Chile, UDLA has enrollment of 24,000 on four campuses. The private university was founded in 1981 and is owned by Laureate Education, Inc. MSSU students who have spent a semester in Santiago have benefited greatly from the academic, language, and cultural challenges of studying at a Spanish-speaking university.
