Nina L. Khrushcheva
The granddaughter of former Soviet Premier Nikita Krushchev, Dr. Nina L. Khrushcheva received a degree from Moscow State University with a major in Russian and minors in English and Italian in 1985 and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University in 1997. Dr. Khrushcheva is a professor of media and culture in the graduate program of international affairs, senior fellow of the World Policy Institute at New School University, and adjunct associate professor at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She is also senior editor of Project Syndicate: Association of Newspapers Around the World. After receiving her Ph.D., she had a two-year appointment as a research fellow at the School of Historical Studies of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton and then served as deputy editor of the East European Constitutional Review at the New York University School of Law. Dr. Khrushcheva’s numerous articles have appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Nation, The Wall Street Journal, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Times Literary Supplement, and other international publications. Her book Visiting Nabokov is forthcoming from Yale University Press in 2005. Dr. Khrushcheva has made several media appearances, including the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and CNN’s World View. She has presented at more than a dozen conferences and lectures. Dr. Khrushcheva has received the American Fellowship from
the American Association of University Women, the Merit
Fellowship from Princeton
University, and the Distinguished Teaching Award from
the Diplomatic
Corps Service Bureau in Moscow.
