Located
in Webster Hall 334, the Language Laboratory offers Sony Virtuoso Language Lab
with audio, video (VHS & DVD), laser disk and computer capabilities,
as well as video presentation stand. Trained staff members assist faculty
and students in operating the equipment. Students are welcome to use the
facility when it is not used for classes.
Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00-12:00 p.m. and 1:00
p.m.-4:00 p.m. The lab is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Language Laboratory (Webster Hall 334) offers audio cassette duplication
services to MSSU students enrolled in foreign language classes. To have
a copy of a cassette, students need to bring 90 min. NORMAL BIAS,TYPE
I audio tape and WRITE THEIR NAME, TEXTBOOK AND CHAPTERS to be copied
on each tape. They can drop off blank tapes at the Language Laboratory
drop-off box and pick them up later, usually the same day.
The Language Laboratory (Webster Hall 334) also offers compact disk duplication
services to MSSU students enrolled in foreign language classes. To have
a CD copy made, students need to bring the appropriate amount of regular
CD-R blank disks for duplication. They can drop off blank CDs at the Language
Laboratory drop-off box and pick them up later, usually the same day.
Students may use Center’s materials, such as video and audio tapes,
software or books, in Webster Hall rooms 345 and 346 and will need to
show their valid student ID. Group viewing is available in Webster Hall
350 but must be scheduled in advance. Students and faculty may use the
recording facilities for use in MSSU courses and other MSSU programs.
Audio recording is available in Webster Hall 345 and 346; video recording
and editing equipment is located in room 346.
MSSU faculty may request video tape recording from or onto PAL for use
in MSSU courses or other MSSU programs. The Center does not provide recording
for personal use.
