La enseñanza de un idioma requiere más que el hablarlo bien. De hecho, es un arte que combina el saber cómo aprendemos lenguajes con apreciación de porque queremos aprender un lenguaje en particular. Los buenos maestros ayudan a los estudiantes a triunfar aun cuando corren el riesgo de verse ridiculizados, y le abren a los estudiantes las ventanas hacia los nuevos mundos que un segundo idioma provee.
En el IEP elegimos instructores que conocen bien el lenguaje y que entienden la variedad de maneras en que los estudiantes se conviertan en buenos usuarios del lenguaje. Enseñamos el Ingles como se utiliza, y brindamos a los estudiantes muchas oportunidades de aprender en ambientes naturales y cotidianos. Además, los instructores y tutores son sorteados de parlantes internacionales nativos del idioma Ingles asi como de parlantes del Ingles como segundo idioma.

He worked for ten years at a rural campus of the University
of Alaska Southeast, where he was responsible for international
student admissions and the second language English program.
After a six month sabbatical teaching in Russia’s Far
East, he began focusing on language acquisition and returned
to school at Northern Arizona University to earn an MA-TESL
degree. At NAU, he taught in the writing and in the intensive
English programs, inaugurating in both a web-based instructional
component. He also taught for three years in the English Language
Center at Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey. Academically,
he is interested in the role of reading in non-native language
development and the use of technology for language teaching. |

was born and raised in Belgium and is a second
language learner of English. She is fluent in Dutch and French,
with scholastic knowledge of German. She earned a degree in
teaching and moved to Hull, England where she taught French
and Dutch to young adolescents. In Belgium, she became a full-time
teacher in English as a Second Language and Life Skills. In
South-Korea, she volunteered at the International School and
for the last six years has volunteered in the Carl Junction
schools and at Joplin NALA. She teaches French at Discovery
School, Joplin.
She loves to read, cook, entertain friends, but above all
to travel. She has visited many places around the world and
enjoys making new friends and learning about other cultures.
