Job Description:
The Student Activities Coordinator assists with the planning and administration of social, cultural, and recreational activities of various student groups, according to University policies and regulations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties:
Assists with advising the Campus Activities Board.
Provides onsite supervision for a variety of campus events including concerts, family events, lectures, novelty activities, special events, trips, campus recreation events, and residence hall events.
Assists the Director of Student Activities in dealing with outside talent agents and other university offices.
Serves as the secondary advisor and resource person for Student Activities programs and services.
Assists in the administration and management of all scheduled events in the Student and Recreation Centers.
Assists in the monitoring of all student activities; including budgets and expenditures.
Assists in the preparation and marketing of Student Activity events.
Meets with student and faculty groups to plan activities.
Provides individual or group advising on selection of social activities and use of leisure time.
Coordinates other duties as assigned.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education, Experience, and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Student Affairs, Recreation, Sports Management, Health Promotion or related field required.
Prefer experience with student activities, recreation, and/or facility management programs, preferably in a university setting

Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) Department of Criminal Justice is expanding to include a Coordinator of Criminal Justice Seminars. Job Description:
The Criminal Justice Seminar Coordinator furthers the development, operation and success of the Criminal Justice Department by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties:
Acts as University liaison with Law Enforcement Officials in Missouri and the Four State region regarding training.
Conducts annual training needs assessments of law enforcement officials.
Monitors program evaluations to determine training needs of Officers who attend programs.
Stays abreast of national training trends by membership in organizations, such as: IALEETA, International Association of Law Enforcement Educators and Trainer Association, International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards & Training (IADLEST), Missouri Police Chiefs Association, and Missouri Sheriff’s Association.
Works with the Missouri Department of Public Safety Peace Officer Standards (POST) and Training to ensure CEU program offerings comply with POST requirements.
Maintains training records to comply with POST requirements.
Participates in POST audits of CEU training programs.
Plans, budgets, schedules, develops, organizes, markets, and administers training programs presented in Joplin and on-site locations throughout the State; Department Annual In-Service Training Program; Concealed Carry courses; and annual 10 week Interactive televised training program that is telecast to remote locations in Missouri.
Acts as Project Director for Missouri Division of Highway Safety grant to develop and present Highway Safety related training programs to officers in small and rural law enforcement agencies around Missouri.
Secures other grants applicable to training.
Negotiates and produces programming to support yearly training contracts with law enforcement agencies in area.
Identifies and recruits national and local instructors to provide instruction in training programs.
Teaches a three to six hour undergraduate academic load in the fall and spring semesters as assigned by the Department Head.
Coordinates use of Criminal Justice facility and equipment with department head.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education, Experience, and Licenses
Masters degree in Criminal Justice or a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice with a Masters in a related field. Five years of active Law Enforcement experience is required. Law enforcement training experience and broad knowledge of training methodologies is preferred.
Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet the university’s insurance requirements for driving university vehicles. Must be eligible for certification as an instructor for the Missouri Department of Public Safety POST.

Job Description
The Training Logistics Coordinator plans, coordinates and executes seminars / workshops / conferences for the Heartland Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) in order to assist the PTAC in educating / training businesses on contracting with the various levels of the government. In addition the position will coordinate training for the PTAC personnel and handle some administrative duties by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties
Performs all steps necessary to conduct training events.
Creates brochures, pamphlets, etc. for training events using software and various office equipment.
Distributes literature about PTAC and training events to interested parties.
Coordinates, as necessary, with other offices such as business assistance offices, congressional offices, and government contracting offices, to plan and execute training events.
Prepares and provides reports and information required for training events.
Maintains high-level contact with other staff member, other PTACs, economic development offices, government contracting personnel, prime contractors, and the general public.
Occasionally makes public presentations.
Updates, oversees and maintains all training information computer databases.
Able to travel occasionally.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

Job Description:
The Early Childhood Teacher oversees and instructs students in a classroom setting. This position utilizes innovative and effective teaching methods to enhance the knowledge and skills of students in the class.
Essential Duties:
Creates lesson plans for classroom teaching activities.
Conducts daily attendance checks.
Maintains developmental record for children assigned to their classroom.
Interviews student worker candidates who upon hire will be assigned to the teacher’s classroom and maintains the student worker files.
Supervises Teacher Education early childhood majors assigned to the teacher’s room for clinical field experience during practicum.
Interacts with and provides classroom tour for the parents of children who are of age to be assigned teacher’s classroom in the early childhood program.
Educates the children enrolled in the center in the areas of cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development.
Twice annually the teacher will create and distribute and/or make available to the center director the educational progress reports on the children in their classroom for distribution to center parents.
Attend staff meetings and workshops to meet 12 hour minimum required by licensing guidelines.
Implements the food program; by assisting with records keeping, preparation and/or serving of meals and snacks.
Performs other related duties as required.
Assists the director in any project that is assigned.
