Job Description
The Admissions Counselor plans, initiates, executes and evaluates programs for recruitment and admission of students. This position provides guidance and approval for students seeking admissions into the University.
Essential Duties
Travels by automobile to high schools to meet with prospective students, parents and counselors.
Represents Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) at college day and night fairs.
Helps organize, set-up and participate in receptions and special events designed to attract new students.
Manages assigned recruitment territory by using computer databases of student records.
Makes contact with potential students each week throughout the recruitment cycle.
Conducts interviews and tours of campus for prospective students.
Assists with the evaluation of transcripts.
Assists students with academic questions.
Advises students concerning degree requirements.
Assists the Admissions Office with daily duties related to recruitment and admission of all categories of students.
Updates admission publications.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education, Experience, and Licenses
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
One year related experience and/or training preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have valid Driver's License and ability to meet insurance requirements for driving University vehicles.

Job Description
The Web Content Coordinator is responsible for management of the University’s website content, including maintenance, training, upgrades, and user support.
Essential Duties
Creates and maintains web pages.
Assists with training and support of website end users with the University’s Content Management System.
Communicates and collaborates with end users to ensure timely and regular updates related to website content.
Designs, supports, and maintains websites and assists with the development of new website(s).
Coordinates web server maintenance and support with ITS Network Services.
Monitors public website with respect to public content that represents the University; makes recommendations for web content based on feedback.
Stays current with trends in the areas related to web development (i.e., Twitter, Facebook, Web 2.0, etc.)
Be aware of and use best practices in web site development and the technology infrastructure.
Schedule regular training for beginning users and advanced users of the CMS.
Monitors site usage statistics and system functionality.
Performs other related duties as required.

MSSU is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic professional to serve as the Director for the Upward Bound program. Upward Bound is a federally-funded grant program designed to help high school students, who will be first-generation college students, to achieve their goal of a college education. The successful candidate will work with 60 area high school students in addition to the professional staff at their respective high schools. The Director is responsible for managing project, budget, and staff, and providing advising, counseling, and support services to participants. Job Description
The Upward Bound Director plans, directs, and implements all project activities and serves as an academic skills resource and mentor to students. This position oversees all aspects of the Upward Bound Program and ensures that all aspects of the program are efficient and effective.
Essential Duties
Researches and writes grant proposal for refunding.
Oversees recruiting and selecting of students for the Project.
Visits target schools and participants on a weekly basis.
Administers diagnostic tools and examines test data to determine individual service needs.
Develops programs and services to meet the needs of Project participants and assists with planning and designing curriculum.
Coordinates the professional job-shadowing program.
Directs the Project’s Summer College Simulation Experience.
Coordinates the Summer Bridge Program.
Manages the Upward Bound budget.
Assists in writing an Individual Plan of Action for each participant and charts each participant’s progress toward graduation.
Oversees the tracking of Upward Bound graduates.
Oversees Project evaluation and reports on Project accomplishments.
Coordinates professional development for Upward Bound staff.
Ensures compliance with Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) and other federal regulations.
Acts as a liaison between the Project and the US Department of Education.
Coordinates with the Director of Project STAY in supervising a shared Secretary.
Oversees responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required. Preferred field of study is Educational Administration, Counseling, Educational Leadership or a related field. Doctorate degree preferred.

The position will be working for the Heartland Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) assisting in educating/ training businesses on contracting with various levels of government. Additionally, this position is responsible for creating, planning and conducting training events; report development; networking with various agencies and businesses; and some public presentations. Job Description
The Training Logistics Coordinator plans, coordinates and executes seminars / workshops / conferences for the Heartland Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) in order to assist the PTAC in educating / training businesses on contracting with the various levels of the government. In addition the position will coordinate training for the PTAC personnel and handle some administrative duties by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties
Performs all steps necessary to conduct training events.
Creates brochures, pamphlets, etc. for training events using software and various office equipment.
Distributes literature about PTAC and training events to interested parties.
Coordinates, as necessary, with other offices such as business assistance offices, congressional offices, and government contracting offices, to plan and execute training events.
Prepares and provides reports and information required for training events.
Maintains high-level contact with other staff member, other PTACs, economic development offices, government contracting personnel, prime contractors, and the general public.
Occasionally makes public presentations.
Updates, oversees and maintains all training information computer databases.
Able to travel occasionally.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
