CHRISTIE L. CATHEY Dr. Christie Cathey is an assistant
professor of psychology at Missouri Southern State University.
She earned her B.A. in psychology from Hendrix College in Conway,
Arkansas and her M.A. and Ph.D. in social psychology from the
University of Connecticut. Her most recent research focuses
on how culturally influenced views of the self affect beliefs
about human rights.
Dr. Cathey spent the 1993-94 academic year studying in Oxford, England and the 1996-97 academic year conducting research at the Université Pierre-Mendès-France in Grenoble, France through a Rotary International Scholarship. During her time at Missouri Southern, she has taken two groups of psychology students to Paris and Grenoble to conduct cross-cultural research designed to examine attitudinal differences between Americans and the French.
