MISSOURI SOUTHERN FOUNDATION
In Support of Missouri Southern State University

You may make a charitable contribution to the College at any time by making a gift directly to the Missouri Southern Foundation. The Foundation encourages regular contributions to the College through several programs. Direct Gifts

Direct gifts include contributions of cash, Master Card, Visa, or securities given directly to the Missouri Southern Foundation. Checks should made payable to "The Missouri Southern Foundation." Any restrictions on the gift such as a specific program or activity should be written on the check or outlined in an accompanying letter. Gifts of securities will be credited at the current fair market value of the assets on the date the Foundation takes control. A receipt for the amount will be sent to you for your records.

Gifts of Personal Property

Personal property such as real estate, art, antiques and the like must be appraised by an outside expert and then can be credited as a charitable contribution. The property may be converted to capital and reinvested or used in its original form in a manner most beneficial to the College.

Annual Phonathon

Student and volunteers call annually to solicit pledges from Faculty, Alumni, and Friends of MSSU. Pledges are used to support ongoing activities, in accordance with the donor’s instructions for specific campus activities or as unrestricted gifts used in a way the Foundation feels will most benefit the College.

Year End Giving

Each year in October the Foundation sends a direct-mail reminder to alumni and friends. The year end reminder prompts donors to make a contribution to the Missouri Southern Foundation prior to the end of the tax year. Funds from direct-mail contributions are used in the same manner as phonathon gifts.

Gifts for Special Occasions
On Behalf of a Friend or Loved One

Each year gifts are made to the College on behalf of others for special occasions such as Christmas, Birthdays, and Mother’s or Father’s Day. This is an excellent gift idea while helping promote higher education. Checks should be made payable to "The Missouri Southern Foundation." Any restrictions on the gift such as a specific program or activity should be written on the check or outlined in an accompanying letter. A receipt for the amount will be sent to you for your records and we will send an acknowledgement to the person you made the gift on behalf of.
