The fundamental purpose of the Financial Aid Office at Missouri Southern State College is to make an education available for students who would normally be deprived of a college education because of inadequate funding. Based on the belief that higher education should not be a privilege reserved only for those who can afford to purchase it and that educational opportunities should not be limited by the financial resources of the student and their family, the Financial Aid Office will seek out funds making them available to current and prospective students so as to meet their demonstrated financial need, without regard to race, creed, national origin, age or disability.
Types of Financial Aid are:
When awarding financial aid to students, the Financial Aid Office generally awards gift aid first, employment second, and loans last. One goal of the Financial Aid Office is to get students out of College owing the least amount as possible. Therefore, loans are awarded last. | |||
