Scholarship Policies:
- Presidential and Excellence Scholarships are renewable up to 8 semesters with completion of at least 12 credit hours per semester AND a semester GPA of 2.5 the first awarded semester and 3.0 each succeeding semester.
- Non-resident Service Area Freshman and A+ Leadership Scholarship are renewable up to 8 semesters with completion of at least 12 credit hours per semester with a semester GPA of 2.5.
- Transfer and Non-resident Service Area Transfer Scholarships are renewable up to 4 semesters if the student completes at least 12 credit hours per semester with a semester GPA of 2.5.
- Recipients may combine Presidential, Excellence, or one of the transfer scholarships with a Non-Resident Service Area Scholarship if the student resides on campus.
- Scholarship recipients may receive department performing awards in addition to academic scholarships; however, these must be coordinated with the scholarship office not to exceed the student's direct college costs. Scholarships must be applied to tuition and dorm fees.
- Students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester at MSSU and complete at least 12 credit hours per semester at MSSU to be eligible to renew a scholarship (unless otherwise stated in Patron Donor's Criteria).
- Presidential, Excellence, A+ Leadership and Non-resident Service Area Freshman Scholarship recipients must use the scholarship within one year after high school graduation or testing and may not have attended any post secondary program after graduation or testing prior to entering MSSU.
- An academic transcript must be sent to the Registrar's Office for evaluation. Upon verification of the above criteria the award will be made.
- Eligibility criteria will be reviewed in August and January prior to disbursing funds.
- Patron's Scholarships are not automatically renewable. Application must be filed each year prior to March 1.
- Scholarships are fee waivers, no cash may be received unless coordinated with a non-college cash award.
- Appeals, special circumstances, and questions pertaining to the awarding guidelines should be made to the Director of Financial Aid.
ALL FEES, TUITION, AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE AND ARE SUBJECT TO REVIEW BY THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE UPON RECEIPT OF FUNDS AND AUTHORIZATION BY THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS.
