MIDWEST STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM FOR FIRST-TIME INCOMING FRESHMEN

 

Eligibility

 

Midwest Student Exchange Program Awards for incoming Freshmen are awarded directly to entering first-time freshmen U.S. Citizens by Missouri Southern.  Students must graduate from a high school in one of the participating exchange states of Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, or WisconsinPlease Note:  Certain counties in Kansas are in the Missouri Southern Service Area and the student may be eligible for a Nonresident Service Area Scholarship instead.   Click here for information or call 417-625-3161 for more information.  Students must also meet one of the following criteria:

 

--ACT composite score of 21 or higher, OR

--Rank in the upper 25% of high school graduating class, OR

--have an Admission Selection Index number of 75.

 

If you would like to calculate your index online, click here.  Have your Official High School Transcript with ACT Score and class rank sent to the Admissions Office.  To verify receipt of your transcript, contact the Admissions Office, 417-625-3098 or 417-625-9378.  Contact the Scholarship Office at 417-625-3161 if you meet one of the above criteria and have not received a Midwest Student Exchange Program Award acceptance certificate. 

 

Value:  Equal to one-half the amount of the out of state portion of the tuition for 15 credit hours.

 

Renewal

This scholarship is renewable up to 8 consecutive semesters with enrollment in at least 15 credit hours per semester and completion of at least 12 credit hours per semester.  The student must earn a 2.5 semester GPA the first semester of the scholarship and a 3.0 semester GPA for each semester thereafter.  This is not a cumulative GPA. 

 

Additional Requirements

--This scholarship may not be combined with other academic scholarships.  Students who are eligible for multiple academic scholarships will be awarded the highest value academic scholarship.  It may not be combined with Patron/Foundation scholarships.  However, it may be combined with performance/department awards up to tuition and room and board – if residing in the residence hall.

--This scholarship will not cover any deposit, rental, or fees.  It must be applied toward nonresident tuition only.

--You must use this scholarship within one year of High School graduation or GED testing.

--Official Transcripts must be sent to the Admissions Office.

--Students must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

 

ALL SCHOLARSHIPS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE AND ARE SUBJECT TO REVIEW BY THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE UPON RECEIPT OF FUNDS AND AUTHORIZATION BY THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS.
