Kelly B. Larson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech Communication and the Director of Forensics (Speech and Debate). He came to the department by way of the U.S. Military Officer Corps serving in the Gulf during two combat tours. An avid high school and collegiate debater, he has a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication and Business Administration from North Dakota State University. He has a Master's Degree from NDSU in Communication/Governmental Information. Currently, he is a Ph.D (ABD) candidate at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Kelly has taught customs and courtesies to Saudi Arabian national guard troops, taught students with oral comprehension anxiety, coached a national championship LD debate team, coached an individual LD champion, and finished 5th at the NFA National LD championships in 2006 and 2007. He brings an application of speaking and argument theories from practice to application.
