Catered by Sodexo the Missouri Southern State University campus food service. State Rules About Nutrition
Birthdays are a special time that we enjoy sharing with your child. Treats may be sent for your child’s birthday; however, we request that all treats be pre-packaged. We cannot serve homemade goodies. Please give advance notice to your child’s teacher if you intend to bring treats. The teacher will inform you of the number of children who will be in attendance on the day you plan to bring treats and of any food allergies or special dietary restrictions.
Special attention is paid to your child’s needs. Alternative food choices will be provided to protect your child when items to which he/she is sensitive are on the menu. You will be required to provide lactose alternatives if your child is allergic to milk as milk is provided with every meal and many snack times.
Meals and snacks for your child are provided in the tuition fees. You are asked to complete the state food program enrollment form so that MSSU might receive reimbursement for food costs in the Child Development Center. Participation in this program helps keep tuition rates low for the MSSU daycare.
From time to time when the campus food service Sodexo is closed, children are asked to bring a sack lunch from home. Breakfast and snacks will still be provided by the Child Development Center.
The Child Development Center and Sodexo work together to provide meal alternatives for individuals who are Vegan or Vegetarian. Your assistance is required to provide food items if your child requires a gluten-free diet.
