Neosho
Rotary sponsors show for area projects Staff Writer The
Neosho Rotary Club is sponsoring an On Stage talent show Saturday,
Oct. 5. The
show begins at 7 p.m. at the Neosho municipal building. The
Rotary Club is a civic club, which raises money for service projects in
the area. Half of the money for the show will go toward service projects
in the Neosho area, and the other half goes toward the Polio Plus
program, which is sponsored by all Rotary Clubs for the eradication of
polio. This
is the first year for the talent show and turnout is expected to be big. There
is a lot of talent in this area and it gives amateurs a chance to show
off their talent, said Sue White, co-chairperson of the fund-raiser
committee. The
cost to enter is $15, and participants must be 18 years or older. The
show will consist of three divisions: vocal, instrumental and dance. The
winners from each category will share a $1,000 prize, and the winner of
the vocal category will receive a chance to record a song at a recording
studio in Seneca. Jim
Moskeau of the Showboat in Branson will be one of the judges for the
competition. Tickets
are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and can be obtained from any
Rotarian. Each ticket has a coupon for 10 percent off any meal at the
Kitchen Pass and 10 percent off at the Neosho Inn. The
response is good, hopefully someone can launch a career through this,
said Hazel Pennell, Rotary Club vice president. |
