To the editor:

I couldn't help but notice the controversy Josh Ray's article has sparked. I always enjoy hearing another person's side to an argument. It is the only way to ever get to the truth of any topic. However, I feel the way in which this controversy has been handled by not only Josh, but by The Chart itself, has been downright disrespectful. First of all, I believe the cartoon picture posted in last week's Chart was in very bad taste. There are certainly other ways to get your point across without having a guy standing behind the constitution, sticking his tongue out and flipping off Christians who are throwing bibles and crosses at him. I may not agree with your opinion, but I will always respect your right to voice it if you are willing to do so in an intelligent and respectful manner. I have no problem with Josh expressing his opinion, I encourage him to do so, but I do think it should be handled in a more professional manner.

Josh, you may claim that nobody can prove to you that God exists. However, you have done NOTHING to prove to anyone else that God does NOT exist. Your article did a lot of finger pointing, but did not present one concrete fact. Judging Christians on a select few individuals that misinterpret the Bible does not in anyway denounce the fact that God exists. You have not read a word of the New Testament nor do you understand the teachings of Jesus Christ if you truly believe Christianity promotes violence and casual sex. If you believe there are concrete scientific facts that disprove God's existence, I suggest you look no further than the research of the world's greatest scientific mind, Albert Einstein, to disprove your theory.
