Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day. You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.

And one of these ways is by watching the 10 greatest sports movies ever made. And to help you pick which movies are the best, we have compiled a list.

Coming in at number 10 is Tin Cup (Eric s pick).

E: Well, basically, it s a movie about a nobody golfer that used to be a somebody. He makes a comeback by competing in the U.S Open, and he kicks his archrival s behind. It s a Kevin Costner movie, but it s actually not a three-hour movie. Grade A top choice movie, there.

P: I ve seen this. It s a chick flick, kind of. I picked Requiem for a Heavyweight, but most of you probably have seen Tin Cup.

Number nine: Kingpin.

P: This is a classic movie about a bowler who loses his hand, can t compete and recruits an Amish bowler. I m telling you, a classic and Bill Murray has a great performance in this. Pretty freakin  hilarious.

E: I m gonna have to go ahead and agree on that one there. Talk about comedy. It doesn t get any better than an Amish bowler and a guy with a prosthetic arm.

Number eight: The Sandlot

P: A classic coming-of-age movie, surrounded by the game of baseball and a ball signed by Babe Ruth that the kid hammers over the fence to a dog who eats baseballs. But all in all, a funny movie set in the 1960s that anyone can enjoy.

Number seven: Pride of the Yankees

E: Now many of you might not have seen this movie since it was made in the 1940s, but it is an all-time great. The flick is about the life of the Iron Horse himself, Lou Gehrig. It stars acting legend Gary Cooper as Lou, and Babe Ruth as himself. I also believe it won a couple of Academy Awards. It s one of those movies that ll bring tears to your eye, not that it brought any to mine (Manly grunt).

Number six: The Hurricane

P: I m pretty sure you all know the story of The Hurricane, and I don t have to tell you about it. But, for those of you who don t know, the story is about the heavyweight champion who was arrested for a murder he didn t commit and spent years behind bars trying to clear his name. Just a real great movie based on the person s true life.

Number five: Major League - Rocky

P: Some controversy here folks. I picked Rocky and Eric picked Major League. I still believe Rocky goes in the fifth spot. Anyway, Major League is a great comedic tour de force. I guarantee a good portion of you know the plot, and I don t need to explain. But most definitely, better than Rocky on my list.

E:  Now Philip, that s just crazy talk right there. I mean Major League is definitely an excellent movie, but it just doesn t compare to Sylvester Stallone s only movie with artistic integrity. For those who don t know about Rocky, and if you don t, shame on you, it s a movie about a street fighter struggling to make it that gets a one time shot against the boxing heavyweight champion of the world. It just brings me joy when I hear Stallone shout  Adrian!

4: Rocky (Major League)

P: We ve discussed this already. Just two words to say here:  YO, ADRIAN!!

Number three: Remember the Titans

E: This movie was made by Disney, so you probably know how the plot goes. A team with no chance has to overcome adversity and tragedy to win the state championship in 1970s Virginia. This movie was based on a true story and it stars Denzel Washington. If it stars Denzel, then clearly it is a movie of epic proportions.

P: Yeah, just a classic movie. You, the reader, will see that we like our sports movies to be about real life, seeing as how half the list is true stories.

Which brings us to number two: Hoosiers

P: Oh, my goodness. Just an unbelievable movie. What can I say? I have only seen this movie once, and I remember that it was a powerful movie that can move people to tears. Not me, but other people (Manly grunt).

Now the moment you have all been waiting for. Drum roll please, the greatest sports movie ever: Rudy.

P: What can you say about the only player in Notre Dame history since 1975 to be carried off the field? And he only played one game. This is just an awesome movie, and if you have never seen it, shame on you. This is a story about a boy s love for Irish football and his quest to be on the Notre Dame football team. Which is the dream of all true Irish fans, correct? Yes, it is. Nothing compares to the final scene when the whole crowd starts chanting,  Rudy, Rudy, Rudy!  The coach, being stubborn as he is, puts Rudy in during the last two plays of the game, in which he sacks the quarterback. No one expected that. Last time I saw it, it brought a tear to my eye. I m strong enough in my manhood to say that and not be ashamed of it.

E: Not much to say about this one except I get inspired every time I see this movie. I decide I m going to tryout for my football team and make the squad. Then two seconds later, I grab some food and plop down on the couch as I decide I enjoy being lazy.

There you have it - the greatest sports movies ever, and if you have a movie that should be on the list, write us a letter and tell us your favorites. For those of you who don t agree that Rudy isn t the greatest move ever, then who cares?
