Burning security truck attracts students attention 1. Damaged Property
9/22/02 3:30 p.m. A
student notified security her car had been hit while parked at
Missouri Southern. She said her car had been hit the previous day.
There is no suspect vehicle at this time. The
damage consisted of three large scrapes on the driver s side front
fender. Each mark was estimated to be 12-14 inches long.
2. Injured Person 9/25/2002 1:25 p.m.
Security
was called to the west hillside of Matthews Hall for an injured
skateboarder. The officer on the call contacted the three individuals
who were skateboarding. They said one went inside to cool off after
falling. The
injured skateboarder had a possible separated shoulder. After refusing
medical treatment, security advised the individuals to take the
injured skater to seek medical attention. The officer also told them
skating was not allowed on the campus.
3. Stolen Property 9/27/2002 3:20 a.m.
Security
was called to Webster Hall in reference to a missing flag. The
building custodian advised there was a missing United States flag from
Webster Auditorium. The custodian said he locked the auditorium the
previous night and remembered it being there at the time. However, in the morning, upon opening the auditorium, the flag was missing. The auditorium was left open early Sept. 27 for the Joplin Piano Teachers to prepare for an event. 4. Alcohol Violation 9/30/2002 7:45 p.m.
A
security officer was driving toward Fast Trip for a bite to eat when
he saw a vehicle in the Fast Trip parking lot. In the store, the
officer noticed two individuals at the counter with a quart of beer. When
they left the store, the officer called the officer on duty on campus
to give him the heads up about the vehicle. The individuals went back
to the residence halls but were confronted by the second officer. The
vehicle made a U-turn, but was stopped by the original officer who
spotted them. Both
security officers suggested the students pour the beer our on the
ground.
