Student says rock hit dad's car when lawn was mowed 1. Fire Alarm 8/9/2002 5:45 p.m. When security was checking East Hall to make sure all doors were locked, the officer heard a fire alarm going off in the building. With help from another officer, the two ordered everyone in the building to get out. The alarm panel stated that the problem was in a student's room where the officer had cleared before returning. The alarm would not shut off until the officer was able to use a key. The alarm was reseted and everything was clear when security went back on patrol.
2. Damaged Property 8/8/2002 8:45 p.m. Security was contacted when a student said he parked his father's white 1997 Dodge Ram pickup. He said when he returned to the vehicle he discovered there was a crack in the windshield. The crack was in the center on the top and extended down about a foot. There was a pit at the top of the crack. The student said the grass on the field had been mowed during the time he was away from the car and thought a rock might have caused the damage. Security checked with maintenance, and they said the lawn hadn't been mowed in over a week.
3. Damaged Property 8/26/2002 12:15 p.m. A student contacted security when she discovered her 2001 PT Cruiser had a busted left rear back-up lens. She believes the damage occurred Aug. 20. The broken lens had what appeared to be yellow paint on it, the same color of the paint used on college barricades. The student had parked her PT Cruiser east of the area barricaded off for the contractor who was installing the new flag pole on the oval. It is not known what caused the damage.
4. Stolen Property 8/27/2002 9:30 a.m.
Amber Tankersley, director of the Child Development Center in Taylor Hall, reported to security of some missing items. Tankersley advised that four items were missing from a display in the Center. The display is owned by Books Are Fun and persons can order from a form left in the display. Items that were last seen Aug. 22 were a backpack pillow, a Scooby-Doo drawing book and kit, the CD Winnie the Pooh story book and a karaoke piano book. Together the value of the items missing is more than $40. There are no suspects.
