Unknown persons storm Physical Plant building

1. Vandalism

    10/9/2002

    11:30 p.m.

An unknown person or persons shot approximately 15 paintballs at the Physical Plant building, hitting the building and windows. The Joplin Police Department was called to the College because they had someone on South Main Street shooting paintballs at cars.

 

2. Injured Person

     10/12/2002

      8:30 p.m.  

   

Security was contacted in regards to an injured person at Hughes Stadium during a Pee-Wee Super Bowl game.

A player had jumped up trying to catch a ball and landed on his leg. An ambulance was called, and the subject was transported to Freeman Health System.

 

3. Stolen Property

     10/13/2002

      10:30 p.m.

 

A student notified security saying that someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen his CD player.

The person or persons involved entered the vehicle, ripped the centerpiece of the dash and removed the CD player from it.

He said that his vehicle was locked, but when he returned, the door was unlocked and somewhat opened.

It was unknown how someone entered the vehicle.

4. Disruptive Behavior

     10/14/2002

      7:15 p.m.

   

An instructor contacted security saying that a student in her class had become disruptive, and the student refused to leave unless security was contacted.

The instructor called her department head, who notified security.

When security arrived, the officer told the student he should gather his items, which he did without further incident.
