10/28/2002 7:40 p.m. Security
was notified to the football office in reference to a theft called in
by Bill Cooke, head football coach. Cooke
said at 10 a.m. Oct. 27 he discovered the front license plate was
missing from the silver Chevrolet Malibu the Athletic Department uses. Cooke
said the last time he used the vehicle was about a week prior to the
incident. He
contacted the Joplin Police Department as well.
2. Disturbance 10/29/2002 4:50 p.m.
Two
students, a male and female, were arguing behind Spiva Library causing
security to be notified. Upon
arrival, security saw the male student on a cellular telephone. The
student said he was trying to arrange transportation so the couple
wouldn t have to be around one another. The
students, who knew each other, both concurred that there was no
physical contact involved in the argument. Security explained to them the Joplin Police Department could be notified if necessary.
3. Possible Accident 10/29/2002 9:50 a.m.
Security
was notified Oct. 29 from a grounds crew employee of some debris by a
light pole behind the residence halls. A
couple parking spaces away was a white Ford Explorer that had damage
to its front bumper and fender. There was also a crack in the front
window. Security
believes this crack could have come from the driver hitting his or her
head on the window. The vehicle does not belong to a student.
4. Theft 11/4/2002 11:07 a.m.
A
student contacted security when he arrived at his car after his
classes. He
noticed when he returned only the driver s side door was locked.
Looking inside the car he noticed his CD booklet was missing. The case
had approximately 100 CDs inside. Also
missing from the car was the student s wallet, which contained his
driver s license, ATM card, Discover Credit Card, student ID and
other miscellaneous items. No damage was visible to the student s car.
