Pornography viewer seeks quick thrills in Spiva Library 1. Suspicious Activity 8/5/2002 11:30 a.m. Security was contacted to Spiva Library for a suspected pornography user. The subject was approached by a library attendant, but ran out through the east enterance. The subject drove away in his blue Ford Ranger pickup. The license was taken by the attendant, however, it was not found in security's files. The attendant showed the security officer the website the subject was viewing.
2. Stolen Property 8/20/2002 12:50 p.m. A student reported to security that a diamond ring, a men's class ring, and a garage door opener were missing after she decided to move out of Dryer Hall. The student withdrew from school to move back home. Her mother picked up her belongings when it was discovered the items were missing. The gold bnad ring was valued at $600, the class ring at $300, and the garage door opener at $30. Security advised the party to file a report with the Joplin Police Department.
3. Personal Injury 8/23/2002 10:45 p.m. Security was notified to the residence hall basketball courts for a personal injury call. The officer found the student sitting on the sidewalk. The student had a cut over his right eye. The injury was caused by players butting heads. The injured student was taken to Freeman Health System by a friend. The other student had a bump on his forehead. Both students were attending Survivor Night.
4. Stolen Property 8/27/2002 11:15 a.m. Security was notified of a missing laptop computer from Room 322 in Reynolds Hall. The computer was last seen Aug. 1 when summer school ended. The computer was discovered missing Aug. 13 The equipment was moved into Room 325 when maintenance waxed the floors in 322. The building custodian removed everything form the room, including a roll around cart that had the computer on it. It's believed the computer was taken while in Room 325 when more people had access to it.
