Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower Missouri Southern State University students and alumni to develop self-assessment and job-search competencies, to successfully link with employers and to actively manage their own career development in a global workplace.
What is Career Services?
Career Services assists students and alumni in the development of employability skills necessary to conduct a successful job search and in the location of full-time employment. Students are encouraged to visit Career Services and view job listings on the Southern Job Network, and participate in Career Development Day, Spring Job Expo, Education Job Fair, career success workshops, mock interviews, and career advising.
We can help you choose a career, market yourself, and get a job! As soon as you choose a major, come to Career Services to meet with a Career Counselor! Students and alumni of Missouri Southern State University are entitled to use our services for free.
We also offer assistance in preparing resumes, cover letters, and graduate school statements, and maintain a career library with over 275 periodical and computer resources. Seniors and alumni can take advantage of on-campus interviews with representatives from business, industry, government and educational institutions.
Have questions about working conditions or salaries for a certain career? Need help choosing a career that suits you? We have two career advisors who are excellent listeners! We will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions about how to make those important choices!
