Southern Job Network

Use the on-line Southern Job Network (SJN) for posting jobs and internships, reviewing resumes, and registering for on-campus events. Access to SJN is a FREE service we offer to employers.


HOW DO YOU ACCESS THE SOUTHERN JOB NETWORK?

  1. New Users - Registration
    If you are not a current user, click on "Click here to Register!" and follow the direction on that page.
    • Search for your Organization and select; if you can't find it, click on "Can't Find Your Organization."
    • Complete all sections. All required fields are marked with an asterisk (*)
    • Once all required sections are completed click on "Register."
    • To post a job follow the steps in "To Create a New Job" below.
    • NOTE: Once you have registered and if you posted a job, both your account and job will be in pending status until an administrator reviews both your account and job. Once your registration is approved, you will receive an e-mail notification.

    Existing Users: If you have previously created an account, enter your username and password. If you don't know this, call Career Services at 417-625-9343.

  2. Updating your Profile
    • To update Employer Information, click on "[Edit]". Make changes and click on "Save" to complete the changes.
    • To update Contract Information, click on [Edit]. After making changes, click on "Save" to complete changes.

  3. To Create a New Job
    • Click on "New Job."
    • Enter job information. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
    • Fill out as much information as possible to make the job posting complete.
    • In the field "Application Instructions," enter the procedure in which a potential employee may apply for this position.
    • Click on "Save" to update this information.
    • NOTE: Under the "Posting Information" section, there are two fields that you need to make a choice on. In "Show Contact Information," if you select "No," your contact information will not be available for potential applicants to see. If you select "Yes" on "Allow Online Applications via Southern Job Network," students will be able to apply online by submitting their resumes. Then once a student applies online, you will receive an e-mail notifying you so you can go into the system and view their resume online.

  4. To Make Changes to Current Jobs
    • There are several sections (position information, Contact Information, and Posting Information) that you may want to update at some time.
    • To make changes to any section, click on the "[Edit]" link and make your changes.
    • Once completed, click on "Save" for each section.
    • NOTE: Each time you add a job or make changes to a current job this information will be reviewed by Career Services before it is posted.

  5. To View Resumes
    • Click on "Resume Books."
    • The list of Resume Books will be displayed to which you have been granted access.
    • Click on the Title of the Resume Book you wish to open.
    • NOTE: Access to Resume Books is granted on an individual basis upon request only. To request access, contact Career Services at 417-625-9343 or careerservices@mssu.edu.
