Patricia Hurley Patricia Hurley

Pat has been at MSSU for the past six years. She earned her master's degree in Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and her bachelor's degree in Social Science Education from the University of Nebraska. She has also worked in Career Services at the University of Iowa and the University of South Dakota for a combination of seventeen years of working in this field. Pat has two daughters that keep her very busy.
Lora Burch Lora Burch

Lora started working for MSSU in Career Services on November 12, 2007. She has over 14 years of experience working in job search assistance. She received her master's degree in liberal studies from the University of Oklahoma, and her bachelor's degree in public administration from San Diego State University. Lora is originally from Iowa, but has lived up and down the East and West coasts as well as having lived in Japan for about nine months. She enjoys walking/hiking, gardening, traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and two grown sons and grandson who was born in October 2001.
Barbara Poppe Barbara Poppe

Barb started working in Career Services at MSSU in August of 1993. Prior to her joining MSSU, she worked at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York and at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She also worked as a secretary in two public school systems and at a law firm.
Ryan Rogers Ryan Rogers

Job Title: Service Learning Coordinator

Ryan was born in Hampton, Virginia on December 30, 1983. With his mother being in the Air Force, he had moved and lived in many places, the most interesting being in Italy for 3 years. He went to high school in Papillion, Nebraska, did a year of community college, then moved to Kansas. He recently graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Currently, he is working for Americorp Vista as well as being the Service Learning Coordinator here at MSSU.

Mollie Yocum Mollie Yocum

Job Title: Office Assistant, Career Fair Assistant

Mollie is a junior here at Southern. She started working at Career Services in the Fall Semester of 2005. She is a Early Childhood Education major which she plans to graduate with in May 2009. She likes spending time with her friends and family and scrapbooking.
Brooke Parks Brooke Parks

Job Title: Office Assistant, Career Library Assistant

Brooke started working at Career Services in January of 2005. She is a Health Promotion & Wellness major with a minor in Russian Language (She has traveled to Russia, Belarus, and Central Asia). She is currently a senior and will graduate in July of 2008 after completing her internship. During the summer months, she has worked at a children's camp, a nursing home, and at an Intercultural Center in Denver, Colorado. She plans to work with Russian speaking people following her graduation from MSSU. She enjoys singing, playing the guitar, playing sports, reading and traveling.
Matt Parks Matt Parks

Job Title: Office Assistant, Career Fair Assistant

Matt is from Ballard, MO. He graduated high school with 13 people so coming to MSSU was a change for him. He started working at Career Services in the Fall Semester of 2006. He is a sophomore double majoring in Psychology and Spanish. He hopes to graduate in May 2010 and perform missionary work for a couple of years. He also plans on getting his Master's Degree in a counseling field. He follows Christ and loves helping people. He also enjoys reading educational books, playing the guitar and singing.
Deji Ogunsola Deji Ogunsola

Job Title: Student Webmaster

Deji joined Career Services at MSSU in late December of 2007, during the intersession period. He is a junior CIS major and has a keen interest in Web Applications Development which he plans to pursue after he graduates in December 2009. He took up the challenging task to upgrade and improve the Career Services website which he says is very exciting, as he puts it, "...puts a lot of my classroom and work experience into shape." He is also currently a Web Programmer intern at Leggett & Platt. This tech savvy student is also a member of the Honors Program. He enjoys playing soccer, reading, and watching his favorite anime, Naruto.
