HiSET: High School Equivalency (HSE)
The HiSET® exam, the new alternative to the GED® test. Is a comprehensive high school equivalent test. The HiSET exam will be accepted anywhere across the country. Total cost for all 5 subtests is $95. The entire exam must be completed within a 12-month period. The entire exam or any number of individual subject areas may be taken in one sitting, but only three attempts in a calendar year are allowed. Scores will show at the end of each exam except for the writing portion.
How to sign up for the HiSET: You must register online at: https://hiset.ets.org/take/hiset_account after creating your account you will be able to schedule and pay for an exam.
- What do you need on test day:
- Acceptable and valid ID as required by Missouri (a valid permanent or temporary Missouri license – driver, non-driver, intermediate, commercial or instruction permit, US passport, or US military ID. Make sure your name on your ID appears EXACTLY as it does on your profile you created in your HiSET account when you scheduled your HiSET exam. Outdated or expired identification will not be accepted. ID from another state will not be accepted.
- Layered clothing that will allow you to adapt to a range of room temperatures.
