Biology - Lecturer

The Department of Biology and Environmental Health at Missouri Southern State University seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer beginning in August 2017.   Teaching responsibilities will primarily be in general biology for non-majors or beginning anatomy and physiology courses for allied health students.  Qualifications: Master’s or doctorate degree in biology or related area.  Microbiology

coursework as well as the initial biology courses for science majors.  Rank and tenure status dependent upon qualifications.  Doctorate in biology or related field is preferred but ABD will be considered.

Biology & Enviromental Health 

Missouri Southern State University:  The Department of Biology and Environmental Health at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri invites applications for a faculty position in Environmental Health & Safety beginning in August 2017; rank and tenure status dependent upon qualifications.  Applicants must have academic preparation and experience in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Safety, or a closely-related field.  Teaching load may include environmental health & safety, environmental regulations, toxicology, occupational health & safety, industrial hygiene, hazardous material safety, hazardous incident management, and solid & hazardous waste management.  Applicant must teach courses both on campus and online.   The position requires a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. A master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Environmental Health, Safety or related area is required.  Certification in the EH&S field is preferred.  MSSU’s EH&S program is accredited by the Environmental Health Accreditation Council (EHAC) and approved by the Institute of Safety and Health Management (ISHM).
