Gov. Jay Nixon announced the appointment of Mr. Keith C. Hankins (R), Stockton, to the Missouri Southern State University Board of Governors on April 26, 2013. His term will expire Aug. 30, 2016. Mr. Hankins fills the Board position held by Charles (Chuck) Surface who passed away in September 2012 while serving the University.

Mr. Hankins has been involved in corporate business management and owns Hankins Grain Company in Clinton. He is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Pennington Seed in Greenfield where he has been employed since 1978. He manages Pennington Seed's daily wholesale distribution and manufacturing operations with more than 300 employees. He also operates a 1,700-acre farm in Arcola.

He is a graduate of Central Missouri State University (now University of Central Missouri), Warrensburg with a bachelor's degree in agronomy. He serves several organizations, including the DACO Foundation, Greenfield FFA, Arcola Christian Church, Missouri Cattlemen's Association, Missouri Seedsman Association and the Greenfield Chamber of Commerce. He served as president of the Greenfield School Board from 2000 to 2009.
