Horn places third in Indoor Heptathlon

Houston, Texas -- Missouri Southern's Phillip Horn earned All-American status and placed third in the heptathlon at the 2009 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships.

Horn won the hurdles and placed third in the pole vault to finish the event with 5,190 points, besting his previous high point total by 83 points.

Channell Lloyd placed eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 37 feet, ten and a half inches, earning her All-American status and bringing the Lions' total to three at the championships, joining Ciara Lipsey, who placed eighth in the pole vault yesterday.

The Lions will open up the 2009 outdoor season on March 28 at Pittsburg State.
