FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions track sign three
athletes Joining the track team will be Owensville High School's Deanna Sieckmann, West Plains High School's Makenzie Seidel and Afton (Mo.) High School's Cyarra Prince. Sieckmann is a three-time All-State performer in track for the Dutchmen and coach Matt Candel. As a sprinter, Sieckmann lettered four years at OHS and holds school records in the 200m, high jump, and was part of the school record holding 4x100m relay team She's finished fourth in the 100m dash each year at the Missouri State Championships, while placing third in 2006 and fifth in 2005 in the 200m. Also an All-Conference selection in basketball, Sieckmann is the daughter of Kevin and Jennifer Sieckmann and plans to major in criminal justice at Southern. Seidel is a four-time letterman for coach Joe Bill Dixon at West Plains where she helped the Zizzers to the 2006 and 2007 state championship in cross country. A four-time All-Conference and All-District selection in track and cross country, Seidel owns the school record in the 800m where she was an All-State selection this past season. She was the conference and district champ in the 800m in both 2006 and 2007, while placing third in the 800m this past year as a junior. She also placed 20th at the state cross country meet. The daughter of Brent and Denise Lidgard, Seidel plans to major in criminal justice at Southern. Prince lettered four years as a sprinter at Afton High School in St. Louis. She was a state medalist in the 300m hurdles in 2005, 06, and 07, as well as placing fifth in the 100m in 2007. She holds the AHS records for the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and was part of a record setting 4x800m relay team. Prince also started four years on the basketball team at Afton. Prince is the daughter of Sandra Hurd and is undecided on her future major at Southern. |
