Selby named MIAA Field Athlete of the Week for second week in a row

Overland Park, Kan. -- Jessica Selby (Galena, Mo.) broke her own school record with a shot put of 49 feet, three inches, and more importantly qualified for the NCAA National Meet, and has been named the MIAA Field Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row as announced by the league office today.

Selby, a graduate of Reeds Spring HS in Galena, broke her own previous school record in the shot put by an inch and a half and the throw is the longest in the country at this point in Division II.

Selby finished second only to Setphanie Jeffers of Division I Tulsa at last weekend. Selby also finished fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 51 feet, seven inches.
