2008-09: Kimi Shank is one of Missouri Southern’s most decorated
student-athletes where she was named 2008 South Central Region Women’s Runner of
the Year … she claimed her first MIAA Title with a time of 21:54.14 helping the
Lions to their third team title … also placing second at the South Central
Regional Championships helped the Lions defend their Regional Title … during the
week of October 6 Shank was named MIAA Runner of the Week where she was the top
Division II runner at the Oklahoma State Jamboree with a time of 21:38 … Shank
also improved finishing Seventh at the NCAA DII National Championship with a
time of 21:57 … her best time came at the Southern Stampede where she ran a time
of 17:26.7
2007-08: Shank quickly became Southern’s top runner as a sophomore earning
two First Place finishes at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational and
Missouri-Illinois Border War … including these finishes she also had six top ten
finishes where she earned All-MIAA Honors with a second place finish at the MIAA
Cross Country Championships with a time of 22:42.63 … also at the South Central
Regional Championship Shank finished Fourth with a time of 21:28.8 … at the NCAA
DII Cross Country National Championships she finished 22nd and a time of 21:24.9
...during indoor season held top times in 3000m and 5000m runs ... competing at
NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 5000m where she finished with
time of 17:31.21 ... her best time came at Tyson Invite with a time of 17:05.51
... also competed in the 1mile run during the MSSU Open ... during outdoor
season she held top times in 1500m- 3000m- 5000m- 10000m- runs ... held a time
of 4:44.74 in 1500m at MIAA Outdoor Championships ... competed in the NCAA DII
Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 5000m finishing with a time of 17:21.53
... also ran at NCAA Indoor Championships in 10000m run where she had a time of
35:48.64 ...
2006-07: Was a top runner for Southern's cross country team ...
had a team's best finish at MIAA Championships finishing 7th and helping team to
first place finish ... she also finished in the top 20 of every meet
including a 13th place finish at the NCAA-II Regionals ... indoor season,
finished with teams top two marks in 5000m run with a best time at MIAA
Championships of 18:29.18 ... also was a top runner in the mile and 3000m run
... did not compete during outdoor season as a freshmen
In high school: Was three time all-state runner for coach Don Knapp
... led team to school's first district championship as a senior ... was two
time district athlete of the year as junior and senior ... helped pace team to
three conference championships and one second place finish ...was four time
state qulifier in track and field ... finished 7th as a junior earning all-state
