Lacey McMunn (Parsons, Kan.) has been named to the Verizon Academic
All-District VII At-Large Team, as selected by the College
Sports Information Directors of America.
McMunn, a sophomore tennis player for the
Lady Lions, was picked for second team honors on the
all-district team.
In 2003, McMunn was picked for first-team
All-MIAA honors after going 12-9 at No. 2 singles for Missouri
Southern this year. She was also an honorable mention
all-conference pick at No. 1 doubles after posting a 15-9
ledger with teammate Sheryl Posch. The Posch/McMunn team was
ranked eighth regionally in the April 15 set of Intercollegiate
Tennis Association rankings.
McMunn maintains a perfect 4.0 grade-point
average and was recently named to the MIAA Commissioner’s
Academic Honor Roll. The elementary education major is also on
track to earn Academic All-MIAA honors and to repeat as an MIAA
Presidential Scholar.
The Lady Lions finished with a 7-12
won-lost record in 2002-03 and went 3-3 in the MIAA to tie for
third place in the league standings. Southern finished fifth at
the conference tournament last month.
