Three from Southern tennis squad listed on all-conference team

Three members of the Missouri Southern tennis team were named to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association all-conference team, the league announced.

Sophomore Lacey McMunn (Parsons, Kan./Labette County HS) was a first-team All-MIAA pick after completing the 2002-03 season with a 12-9 record at No. 2 singles.

Freshman Kim McMunn (Parsons, Kan./Labette County HS) was named to the honorable mention squad at No. 3 singles. She finished 8-9 on the season and is the mother of Lacey McMunn.

Lacey McMunn and junior Sheryl Posch (Parsons, Kan./Parsons HS) were picked for honorable mention accolades at No. 1 doubles. The duo posted a 15-9 won-lost mark this season.

In the last Intercollegiate Tennis Association individual rankings, Posch was ranked No. 10 in singles in the North Central Region. Posch and Lacey McMunn were also eighth in the region in doubles. As a team, Southern was ninth in the North Central Region.

Missouri Southern finished the 2002-03 season with a 6-12 overall mark, including 3-3 in the MIAA. Southern placed fifth at the MIAA Tournament on April 18-19 with a 5-4 victory over Emporia State.
