FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Overland Park, Kan.. -- Lisa Senkle, a redshirt-freshman goalkeeper from Tracy, Calif., has been named the MIAA Defender of the Week, as announced by the league office today (Oct. 8). Senkle posted a shutout in her first career start in a 5-0 Lions win over the Northeastern State Riverhawks (Oct. 3). In the next match, she made seven saves while holding Southwest Baptist without a goal until the Bearcats broke through late in the first overtime period to get the win. Overall, Senkle recorded an 0.48 goals-against-average and nine saves, while allowing only the one goal in the two matches. The Lions' next match will be at Missouri Western on Friday night (Oct. 12) starting at 7 p.m. in St. Joseph, Mo. MSSU currently sits at 8-3-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the MIAA.
